Word for the Workplace
Description:
This short learning programme on Word for the workplace aims to equip novice users with the fundamental competencies required for the creation, modification, and printing of documents with a polished and professional appearance, making use of MS Word. This course covers using text, tables, lists, and images while also addressing the basics of executing straightforward collaboration techniques.
Admission Requirements:
18 years of age and above.
Curriculum:
This course comprises five units, namely: Unit 1: Getting started with MS Word (including creating and saving a document; navigating, selecting and modifying text; and finding and replacing text). Unit 2: Formatting text and paragraphs (including managing formatting, aligning text, displaying text as list items, applying borders and shading, and applying styles). Unit 3: Adding tables and managing lists (including inserting, modifying and formatting a table, converting text to table, and sorting, renumbering and customising a list). Unit 4: Inserting graphic objects (including inserting symbols and special characters, adding images, inserting drop caps, inserting and modifying text boxes, and inserting a cover page). Unit 5: Controlling page appearance (including applying a page border and colour, adding a watermark, adding headers and footers, and controlling page layout).
