About Course

Description:

This short learning programme on advanced information literacy is about enhancing the information skills of those involved in researching and assessing information/knowledge. Ideally, a participant has completed UJ’s short learning programme on Building Blocks of Information Literacy before enrolling for this course.

Admission Requirements:

You have to be 18 years or older.

You must have access to an internet-enabled device.

You must communicate clearly in English.

No prior knowledge on the topic is required.

Course Curriculum

Completion of this course will enable you to:

• Identify, define and modify the information needed to achieve a manageable focus in research.

• Assess the quality and relevance of search results to determine whether alternative investigative methods should be utilised.

• Present information by applying the principles of academic integrity, good academic writing, academic margins, and writing styles.

• Cite and reference complex information resources by efficiently using electronic information and bibliographic referencing systems.
